PASS IT ON I
The award-winning video, PASS IT ON I, was developed specifically for children ages 9-13 and deals with the subject of organ donation and transplantation honestly, but in a way that is non-threatening and kid-friendly. The video features legendary Dallas Cowboy Coach Tom Landry and uses sports teams and replacement players as the story line. A "spokeskid" narrates the video in a classroom setting that incorporates Lisa's story, the story of a 13-year-old liver-lung transplant recipient, and the mother of a 16-year-old who donated his organs after a tragic accident. Health and wellness issues are incorporated throughout the video. The PASS IT ON I video received a 1st and 2nd place Telly Award (out of 9,500 entries) as well as a 2nd place Communicator Award (out of 2,912 entries).
PASS IT ON II
The 10-minute PASS IT ON II video was created in direct response to requests for a visual tool to reach teens preparing to drive, a time when organ and tissue donation is often discussed. Fast-paced and contemporary in its "look," the video presents accurate and straightforward information on this important topic. Patients waiting for organs, transplant recipients, members of donor families, teens and adults all share their stories, answer frequently asked questions, and dispel myths so that those who view the video can make informed decisions regarding donation and share those decisions with their own families. The storyline is based on a fictional group of driver's education students with a challenging assignment. The actors are a talented group of multi-ethnic teenagers. Footage of Coach Tom Landry has been incorporated into the new video as well as an interview with former San Antonio Spurs basketball star, Sean Elliott.PASS IT ON - 4 minute (English and Spanish)
PASS IT ON - 4 minute was originally created to reach defensive driving classes in Texas with the donor awareness message. It is shorter in length but still retains the fast-paced, exciting format of the other two videos. It is designed to reach older teens and adults and is an excellent resource for speakers. Like PASS IT ON II, the video includes footage of Tom Landry and basketball star, Sean Elliot, as well as interviews with transplant recipients and members of donor families.Click here for information on the green ribbon, which symbolizes the continuation of life through organ and tissue donation.
